Rolled out update to Android 4.2.2 Sony Xperia Z

Sony Xperia Z: screenshot of the Android 4.2.2 update. (Source: Doomlord / xda-developers) The Sony Xperia flagship Z aka C6602/C6603 receives now the current version of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The LTE version of the smartphone is the first in the series.

As the Xperiablog reported receiving Sony handsets with LTE in Spain and Ukraine already the update, so Germany will follow shortly. The corresponding update to the firmware version is 10.3.A.0.423. On demand of CHIP Online Sony could not make any detailed information on the update. It'll be along shortly, they say.

Surfaced firmware package

Previously, the firmware package from the xda-developers had appeared unofficially. According to the XDA-user Doomlord the program is good but only for a gerootetes Xperia Z and does not reflect the final version. The post screenshots show yet what the Xperia Z with the update expected – about the then housed in the smartphone controller function for the PlayStation 3 The firmware update has also been a member captured in a video (see below). We currently recommend to abandon the unofficial update and wait for the soon-coming Sony update.

Unexpectedly long wait

Originally made "shortly" after launch the Xperia Z now the upcoming update. As reported in late February 2013 xperiablog.net that updating to the latest OS version the end of March 2013 will be rolled out for the top smartphone. At the request of then-CHIP Online Sony just announced the first half of 2013 as part of the update period, which now apparently come true.
